Grand Opening for Mulvaney Medical Office Building

9/22/2009

The newest addition to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center’s campus will be unveiled on Sept. 23 when officials cut the ribbon on the new Mulvaney Medical Office Building.

The three-story, 70,000-square-foot building was built to meet Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Building requirements from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Green design features include low-flow water fixtures, non-toxic finishes and carpet, energy efficient lighting, a recycling program for tenants and a second-floor outdoor healing garden for visitors and staff.

In addition to using sustainable construction practices and incorporating green design in its tenant improvement process, over 80 percent of the Mulvaney’s construction debris was recycled and 60 percent of its materials came from recycled products.

Named after Sisters of the Holy Cross Patricia and Beth Mulvaney, both long-time supporters of Saint Al’s, the building is owned by Cameron Investments of Boise. The hospital signed a lease for about half the building and plans to occupy the entire first floor and half of the second floor.

The remaining space in the building is ready for leasing now, with normal time for tenant build-out estimated at nine months. The Mulvaney is designed for physician and health provider tenants who need spaces 2,000 square feet or larger.

Led by Engineered Structures Inc. and CSHQA Architects, ground was broken on the $7.5 million building last summer. The nearly half-acre west Boise site was leased from Saint Al’s for a term of 100 years.

The grand opening begins at 10 a.m. on the Saint Alphonsus campus. For more information or to the schedule a tour, contact Mark McAllister at 208-472-2855 or visit www.mulvaneymob.com.
