Building the Industry: ESI’s 2018 Summer Internship Comes to a Close
After months of preparation and recruiting, followed by a challenging summer of in-depth learning and training, ESI’s 2018 Summer Internship has finally reached its end. In a short period of just a few months, this year’s group of interns was exposed to the fast-paced world of construction, including practical and professional experience in both the office and the field.
The internship program centers around a culture of mentorship as each intern is paired with an experienced member of the ESI team to help guide them throughout the summer. Spending time on highly technical project sites, the interns learn various aspects of scheduling, estimating, coordination, quality control, safety, and many other vital tools of the trade.
Learning the ESI Way is vitally important for these interns. In our culture, Everyone Succeeds Together in an environment where a work hard and go home mentality provides a work-life balance that is necessary for the demanding field of construction. The interns were able to experience this mission throughout the summer while attending a number of fun, after or during work team bonding events including boating, golf, and a trip to see the Boise Hawks minor league baseball team play.
