Safety Champions: ESI Awarded Two Alliant Build America Safety Awards

For more than 30 years the Alliant Build America Awards have been given in recognition of excellence in the construction industry. These prestigious and highly coveted awards are given to projects selected by a panel of a contractor’s toughest critics – other contractors. Each project reflects a combination of contractor excellence with talented workers and quality safety programs.

Judges looked for projects that excelled in the following areas:

  • State of the art advancement
  • Excellence in project management
  • Innovation in construction or use of materials
  • Contribution to the community
  • Superiority in client service
  • Rising to the challenge of a difficult job
  • Sensitive treatment of the environment and surroundings
  • Partnering excellence

 

St. Luke’s Ambulatory Surgical Center – First Place

The St. Luke’s Ambulatory Surgical Center in Twin Falls won the first place award in the “Building Under $10 Million New” category. Facing grueling Idaho winter weather and a complicated mechanical system, this 20,500 square foot, $8 million facility was delivered under budget and ahead of schedule. ESI was proud to provide this state-of-the-art facility to the Twin Falls community, which has seen a 33% increase in outpatient surgical services. The project team included Joe Jackson, David Bowar, Korey Hall, Dakota McMahon, John Fahrer, Jeff Russell, Heidi Cornwell and Jessi St. Clair.

 

City Center Plaza – Merit Award

The City Center Plaza received a Merit Award in the category “Building New $10 Million to $99 Million”. This 380,000 square foot development is a steel frame ten-story commercial/retail building with an adjoining five-story convention center, with the two structures being connected by a two-floor transition building. The exterior finish is comprised primarily of metal panels and reflective, insulated curtainwall glazing which prevents heat gain and loss. The interior lobbies are finished with several high end ceiling types, ceramic tile, colorful wall coverings and extensive custom murals from local artists. This site is fully landscaped with extensive LED lighting and the latest technology in security and surveillance systems.
