ESI Welcomes Its 1,000th Employee as Regional Economy Grows

Meridian, Idaho – Idaho’s largest general contractor got a little bigger this week and achieved a major milestone as Business Development Executive Nick Ossello started his first day at ESI. Ossello is ESI’s 1,000th employee and he is starting with the Meridian-based construction company at a pivotal moment in its history and Idaho’s unprecedented growth. The auspicious occasion was marked with a hearty welcome and a contribution to the community. Towards that end, Ossello’s first task on the job was to decide how to spend a $1,000 budget.

Idaho and ESI have come a long way since 1974–the year that Engineered Structures, Inc. was founded. From assembling pre-fabricated metal buildings on local farms to building the state’s first true skyscraper in downtown Boise, the ESI team has adapted to the market and thrived in this vibrant environment. ESI President Neil Nelson clarified,

“Our success is directly tied to our people. Nick is joining us at an exciting time and his personal core values and leadership align very well with many of ESI’s dedicated employees. He is a great addition to the ESI Family.”

He added, “Nick is also committed to community involvement. He wanted to align with a company in Idaho that he could continue his relationships while joining an exciting industry.”

Ossello agreed and wanted to be part of a dynamic team that’s driving innovation and growth while staying true to its values. “I’m excited to be part of building up the place I call home and getting involved in the community. We want to make sure that the next generation has the the infrastructure they need to make an impact tomorrow.” From playing Division 1 Lacrosse and graduating from Notre Dame with a marketing degree to rising up in the Financial Services and Development sectors, Ossello has acquired a unique skill set and built an impressive network of influential business professionals in a variety of markets. Beyond his motivation and abilities, ESI leaders brought Ossello on because he reflected their values and commitment to giving back to those in need. Making an enduring impact in every community it touches is part of ESI’s strategic vision, which is why Ossello was given that important first task and the funds to accomplish it.

Ossello’s $1,000 mission was to choose a deserving community service organization and hand over the big check to the staff who work tirelessly to offer a hand up to those in need. He chose the Idaho Foodbank and made the donation official earlier this week. “Nick picked a great local organization committed to strengthening our communities,” Nelson said and added, “ESI regularly contributes food donations and team members volunteer at the Foodbank every year.” The Idaho Foodbank distributed over 28 million pounds of food last year and provided additional services for children, families, and seniors to improve nutritional wellness throughout the state. “I didn’t have to think about it, I chose the Foodbank,” Ossello said. “They give people a place to nourish themselves. Our neighbors shouldn’t have to worry about where their next meal is coming from,” he concluded.

Ready to work and ready to serve, Ossello has great potential to achieve in his new career and make the community a better place. Cultivating relationships and building long-lasting partnerships are the essential duties of a business development executive and they have sustained ESI as a business for over 50 years. ESI is able to hire its 1,000th employee because of its trailblazing customers who are building a brighter future for their teams and their communities.
