In Progress: Building Idaho’s First Medical College, ICOM
Location: Meridian, Idaho
Architect: Dekker/Perich/Sabatini, Ltd.
In 2018, Idaho will take a huge step forward in the future of healthcare in the state. The Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine, the state’s first medical college, will open with a mission to “train osteopathic physicians prepared for caring for persons in Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and beyond.” ESI was selected as the CM/GC for this new 94,000-square-foot higher education building that will include patient and simulation labs, an OMM lab, library, study spaces, open lobby, student lounge plus administration and faculty office and related building support areas.
The facility will be constructed immediately adjacent the Idaho State University Health Science building and Renaissance High School. Sitework will include parking, landscaping, site lighting, and water features. Due to its proximity to students, a detailed safety plan and disruption avoidance plan is being developed to ensure the safety of all adult and minor students, faculty, and visitors.
ESI is providing pre-construction, value analysis, general contracting and construction management services.
