Structural Concrete Services Provided
ESI self-performs a variety of structural concrete work including foundations, footings, slabs-on-deck, post-tensioned (PT) slabs, rebar installation, cast-in-place walls, tilt-up panel walls, elevator shafts, parking garages, and podiums. Below are some of the many projects that we have completed these services on.
City Center Plaza
The City Center Plaza development included a nine-story commercial/retail building, and adjoining five-story convention center. Located adjacent to the existing U.S. Bank building in downtown Boise, the two new structures are connected by a three-floor transition building. ESI self-performed all of the structural concrete work and foundations for the project.
5th & Idaho
ESI concrete crews constructed a post-tensioned concrete podium with one level of parking garage below the five-story, wood-framed apartment building.
Boise Fire Training Center
The construction of the new Boise Fire Training Center included the 2 cast-in-place structures. The first is as 2-story Class A residential burn building and the second is a 5-story Class B commercial tower burn building that includes two roof training areas.
Thompson Retreat
The project boasts a tight connection between the indoor and outdoor environment with board formed concrete walls which link indoors and outdoors. The architectural walls were an ambitious endeavor for the ESI concrete team as they were formed in a single pour without a seam.
Eighth & Main
Standing at 325 feet at its highest point, the Eighth & Main office tower needed a strong foundation to stand on. ESI crews provided this by pouring a total of 12,000 cubic yards of concrete during the construction of the building’s foundations, slab-on-grade, and other associated concrete work. Additionally, the team cast in place a 285-foot concrete core in the center of the 18-story structure.
Pillar Falls and Rock Creek Elementary Schools
ESI constructed two elementary schools concurrently for the city of Twin Falls. These concrete masonry unit (CMU) buildings were supported by footing walls as well as a 42,000 square-foot slab-on-grade, which were constructed by ESI’s concrete division. The multi-story schools also included 28,000 square feet of slab-on-metal deck, bring the total amount of structural concrete poured to 2,600 cubic yards for each facility.
La Pointe Student Housing
LaPointe is a five-level, 131-unit apartment complex totaling approximately 170,000 square feet of occupied space built over a post-tensioned concrete podium structure. ESI self-performed all of the concrete work, pouring 4,500 cubic yards over 75,000 square feet. Beneath the podium is residential parking.
