The Goal: luxurious, lighted living spaces

The owner of this hotel wanted a comfortable escape for each of their guests with plenty of natural light, local art and fire places in each room that made you feel like you were at home despite being in the heart of downtown Boise. They wanted to add a one of kind experience to the Boise downtown hotel experience with every room having a butler’s pantry for room service, and convenient secure technology systems for personal devices. Ninety percent of the guest rooms include outdoor space, mostly on balconies with red flower boxes and café tables with chairs. In the hallways, beautiful hand-blown glass fixtures provide illumination and wayfinding. The Inn at 500 offers the comforts of home to create a blissful experience.

The Solution: Artful planning and careful execution

From the concrete podium to the structural metal stud framing, we considered every aspect of the building to satisfy every requirement: thicker denser floors and walls help create a sound barrier from the outside; Extra care needed to be taken to maximize the square footage of each room due to the tight constraints of this downtown Boise site. Through creative designing we were able to provide ninety percent of the guest rooms with outdoor space, mostly on balconies with red flower boxes and café tables with chairs. In the hallways, beautiful hand-blown glass fixtures provide illumination and wayfinding.

The Inn at 500 is a one of kind, bringing an old-world charm to the edge of Boise’s art district and within a short walk to convention and retail centers. Both exterior and interior design of this hotel combines beauty and elegance with a footprint to fit on a small urban site in the core of the cultural downtown Boise area.
