State of the Company 2020

This past month at our State of the Company event, ESI Construction gathered to review what we have accomplished and what we plan to achieve for 2020. As we enter the new decade together, let’s reminisce on what has helped shape our company as a team, as individuals, projects, and community growth.  In 2015, ESI embarked on a mission to develop a five-year plan that asks four questions: Why are we here, where are we going, how will we get there, and what is the heart of our culture?  All challenges were tackled through the lens of our purpose, vision, mission, and values.

This year we celebrate our success with the plumb bob. A plumb bob is a weight that uses gravity to ensure vertical alignment when constructing the structure of a building.  The core of the structure must be built straight because it affects everything in how the building is built.

Just like the plumb bob we use in constructing buildings, we consult a “company” plumb bob on the health of our culture and people. When a new challenge arises, we pause, see where we are at and what needs to be fixed.  These little adjustments ensure that ESI is on the right course, and can look back at where we have been, how we got to where we are now, and where we are going.

As we lead ESI into the future, we recognize that nothing is accomplished without our entire team pulling together to work as a cohesive unit. ESI’s leadership challenges everyone to embrace the ESI Way. The only way to do great work is to love what you do.  We set out determined to grow as a company both professionally and personally, creating opportunities for ESI employees and their families to make an enduring impact on every community we touch.

ESI will continue to keep moving and never settle. When you fight for what is important, then and only then will you turn good to great.
